Announcing MARCH ON

New York –Today, leaders of many of the sister marches that occurred across the country on January 21st, 2017 are announcing the formation of March On, an organization that will take concrete, coordinated actions at the federal, state, and local levels to impact elections and take our country in a better direction. Millions of marchers strong, March On is uniting behind a sophisticated political strategy to take on both elections and priority issues. Women-led, but open to all, March On is putting its “marchroots” community at the center of major decisions, using cutting edge civic technology platforms to forge consensus and crowdsource the types of candidates to support or oppose and which issues to prioritize.

Jaquie Algee, President of the March On Board, said, “Since the incredible nationwide marches on January 21st, 2017, the nation has been waiting for what’s next for our army of marchers.  It’s finally here. Our marchers and march organizers believe resistance alone is not enough, but by galvanizing the millions of us who marched, we can create lasting, transformative political change by demanding better laws and electing better lawmakers. To do this, March On will deploy its two greatest assets: its nationwide army of marchers along with a marchroots-funded war chest to take on elections and priority issues.”

Vanessa Wruble, Executive Director of March On and one of the lead organizers of the Women’s March on Washington, added: “Starting now, we are mobilizing these assets into a political program called March On the Polls 2018 , where we take on elections at all levels. And each year, the exclamation point to those activities will occur on Election Day, when our efforts culminate in a March On the Polls , our special twist on getting voters to the polls in which we literally flood the streets and “march” voters to their voting booths. While March On takes on elections at the national level, we also support local activities undertaken by affiliates across the country, ensuring that we are pushing for change at all levels. “We call on all Americans who desire a better path  forward to enlist and join our March On army for progressive change. The best part? YOU get to define our political platform, which will be crowdsourced in a project called Operation Marching Orders. The details of how to participate in Operation Marching Orders will be announced soon.”

March On is a 501(c)(4) organization with a Super PAC and an affiliated (c)(3) project.
